Robert Hill
Robert Stephen Hill, born on November 6, 1953, in Cebu City, Philippines, is an
American harpsichordist and fortepianist. After studying harpsichord with Gustav
Leonhardt at the Amsterdam Conservatory, where Hill received a soloist diploma
in 1974, he completed a PhD at Harvard University in 1987 with a dissertation on
Johann Sebastian Bach. From 1990 to 2018, Hill served as Professor of Historical
Keyboard Instruments, Performance Practice and Chamber Music at the Hochschule
