Wai-man Kwan, born 31 July 1979 in Hong Kong, was a Cantopop singer who
relocated to Vancouver in 1990. After winning the 1999 New Talent Singing Awards
Canada Finals and the Best Potential Newcomer Award at the International Finals,
she returned to Hong Kong and signed a long-term contract with BMA Records. Kwan
debuted on 3 July 2002 with the album Jade-1, followed by Jade-2 on 20 December
2002. In 2004 Kwan faced controversy over a contract breach with TVB, which
temporarily limited her media exposure. She continued to release music,
