ZOO
Formed in the wake of May '68, Zoo featured singer Joël Daydé and studio
musicians including guitarist Pierre Fanen. Inspired by progressive rock and
jazz rock, the group enjoyed success with albums Zoo (1969), I Shall Be Free
(1970, with a new singer, Englishman Ian Bellamy), Hard Times, Good Times (1972)
and constant touring. On two occasions, his musicians collaborated with Léo
Ferré, before going their separate ways in 1972. In 2010, a revival under the
name Zoo Tribute Original, with Joël Daydé, resulted in the live album Episode
One.
