Zalo Reyes was a Chilean singer who began his musical career in 1967 after
winning a local festival, eventually adopting his stage name during his military
service. In 1978, he released his debut album, Esa mujer, which featured the
successful song “Una lágrima y un recuerdo" and created a lasting impression.
His mainstream breakthrough occurred in 1983 following a landmark performance at
the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar and a subsequent tour
