Yvonne Denise Kenny is an Australian soprano born on November 25, 1950, in
Sydney. She initially studied science at the University of Sydney before
training with Myra Lambert at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Kenny achieved
professional recognition in October 1975 after replacing a performer in a
production of the Gaetano Donizetti opera Rosmonda d'Inghilterra. She debuted at
the Royal Opera House in 1976 and performed roles including Alcina in the Georg
Friedrich Handel opera of the same name and Sophie in Werther and Der
