Yvonne Chaka Chaka, born Yvonne Machaka on March 18, 1965 in Soweto, South
Africa, is a singer and songwriter. Her career began at age 19 when Phil Hollis
of Dephon Records discovered her in Johannesburg. She released her debut single
"I'm in Love With a DJ" in 1985. Chaka Chaka has collaborated with notable
artists such as Bono, Angélique Kidjo, Annie Lennox, and Youssou N'Dour. She
performed for world leaders including Queen Elizabeth II and US President Bill
