Young Heart Attack was formed in Austin, Texas in 2001 by vocalist and guitarist Chris Hodge, vocalist Jennifer Stephens, guitarist Chris “Frenchie” Smith, bassist Steven T. Hall, and drummer Joey Shuffield. The group initially operated as a seven‑piece ensemble, later consolidating to the core lineup that would record their debut releases.
