Xiuhtezcatl
Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, born on May 9, 2000, is an Indigenous-American rapper and
environmental activist. Raised in Colorado, and later living in Boulder and
Portland, Martinez embraced traditional Nahuatl values and ecological
stewardship from Mexica heritage. Martinez's first musical work appeared in 2015
when the song “Speak for the Trees” won the Jury Award at the United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change. In 2018, Martinez released the debut
