A lover of the classical harp since childhood, Xavier de Maistre attended
conservatories from Toulon to Paris, and decided to devote his life to the
instrument. The first French musician to be admitted to the prestigious Vienna
Philharmonic Orchestra, he won First Prize in the Bloomington Competition (USA)
in 1998, and made his first recordings for Harmonia Mundi and then Sony. In
2008, he released the Nuit d'Étoiles recital devoted to Debussy. Four years
later, Notte Veneziana is a classical music bestseller.
