Wycliffe Gordon
Wycliffe Gordon was born in Waynesboro, Burke County in 1967. Although best
known for his trombone playing, Pinecone as he is nicknamed, is a versatile
musician and proficient on the trumpet, tuba, piano and also the didgeridoo.
Gordon's didgeridoo playing features prominently on his critically acclaimed
2006 album 'This Rhythm On My Mind'. The album is a collaboration with bass
player Jay Leonhart and its release launched Gordon's Blues Back label which
promoted artists who satisfied Gordon's high artistic standards.
