Wolfgang Schlüter, born on November 12, 1933 in Berlin, Germany, was a
percussionist and vibraphonist. He studied timpani and percussion at the Berlin
University of the Arts from 1949 to 1954, but switched to mallet instruments due
to a knee injury. Schlüter's breakthrough came when he joined Michael Naura's
quintet in 1956. He later became a member of the NDR Bigband in 1965 and
collaborated with notable figures such as Kurt Edelhagen, Erwin Lehn, Werner
Müller, Paul Kuhn, Peter Herbolzheimer, and Volker Kriegel. Schlüter also played
on studio recordings for the James Last Band....
