Wolfgang Flür, born on July 17, 1947 in Frankfurt am Main, is a German musician
and former drummer of the electro-pop group Kraftwerk. While still at school, he
played drums in various amateur bands, including Spirits of Sound, together with
Michael Rother. After training as a builder and cabinetmaker and studying
interior design in Düsseldorf, Wolfgang Flür became a permanent member of
Kraftwerk in 1973. There, together with Florian Schneider, he developed an early
