Wolfgang Ambros
Wolfgang Ambros is an Austrian singer, songwriter and musician who had his first
hit at the age of 19 in 1971 with his song 'Da Hofa' based on the poetry of
Joesi Prokopetz. It went to the number one spot on the Austrian Ö3 Radio Hit
Parade. In 1974, along with Joesi Prokopetz and Manfred Tauchen of the band DÖF,
Ambros made the concept LP 'Der Watzmann Ruft', which became a stage musical and
was still being performed as recently as 2011. 1976 saw the formation of his
band Die No. 1 vom Wienerwald (The No. 1 from the Vienna Woods) with Peter
Schleicher, Helmut Pichler, Helmut Now...
