William Harris

William Harris, born around 1900, was an American country blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Little is known about his life, though he is believed to have originated in the Mississippi Delta and may have performed with F. S. Wolcott's Rabbit Foot Minstrels. Discovered by talent scout H. C. Speir, Harris recorded 16 songs for Gennett Records in 1927 and 1928, with 14 issued commercially. His best-known recordings include "Kansas City Blues," "Early Mornin' Blues," and "Hot Time Blues."
