Wilbur Whilt "Wib" Evans was an American operatic baritone, singer, and actor
born on August 5, 1905, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began a career as a
child soloist. He won the Atwater Kent Foundation National Radio Singing Contest
in 1927, earning a scholarship. Evans performed extensively across North
America, gaining acclaim for his roles in Gilbert and Sullivan operetta
productions with Philadelphia's Savoy Company, including The Pirates of
