Wilbert Harrison, born Wilbert Harrison on 5 January 1929 in Charlotte, North
Carolina, was an American R&B and rock'n'roll musician and singer. His first
single "This Woman of Mine / The Letter" was released in 1953, followed by
several other singles, such as "Nobody Knows My Troubles / Gin And Coconut Milk"
and the Savoy Records releases like "Don't Drop It / The Ways Of A Woman". In
1959, he recorded "Kansas City / Listen, My Darling" for Fury Records. This
rockabilly-styled cover of a Leiber/Stoller composition became his breakthrough
hit, reaching number one on the pop chart...
