Wet Willie, an American southern rock band from Mobile, Alabama, formed in 1969. Drummer Lewis Ross assembled the initial lineup, which later became known as Wet Willie after relocating to Macon, Georgia. The band's breakthrough came in 1971 when they opened for the Allman Brothers Band and released their self-titled debut album. Their most successful single, "Keep On Smilin'", reached number 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1974.
