Wet Willie, an American southern rock band from Mobile, Alabama, formed in 1969.
Drummer Lewis Ross assembled the initial lineup, which later became known as Wet
Willie after relocating to Macon, Georgia. The band's breakthrough came in 1971
when they opened for the Allman Brothers Band and released their self-titled
debut album. Their most successful single, "Keep On Smilin'", reached number 10
on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1974. Wet Willie produced several
albums during their active years, including Dixie Rock (1975), Make You Feel
Love Again (1977) and Weekend ...
