Waves was a New Zealand folk rock band formed in Auckland in 1974. The group
emerged from an acoustic trio called Rosewood, which included Geoff Chunn, who
later joined Split Enz. In 1975, Waves recorded their self-titled debut album,
Waves, which reached number 7 on the New Zealand album charts and became a
sought-after collector's item. In 1976, the band recorded a second album that
was rejected by their record company and later erased. Dejected, Waves disbanded
