Right from the start, in 1999, Watcha Clan has been striving to transcend easy
divisions and classifications. Born into the broad movement of French
alternative rock, the band from Marseilles (Bouches-du-Rhône) first asserted
their taste for reggae and dub, before quickly moving on to African, Arab and
Oriental music, before integrating gypsy and klezmer music from Diaspora Hi-Fi
(2008) onwards. This broad panorama of world music is amplified by the obvious
