Vasilis Papakonstantinou, born on June 21, 1950, in Vastas, Arkadia, Greece, is
a Greek singer, songwriter, and musician. He received his first guitar at 12 and
performed with his band Crosswords. After moving to Munich in 1973,
Papakonstantinou participated in anti-dictatorship activities. Upon returning to
Greece, he began his professional career as a singer and musician, recording Ta
agrotika in 1975 and collaborating with Mikis Theodorakis in 1976 for the album
