Van Wesley Stephenson, born on November 4, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio, was an
American singer-songwriter. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee at age ten and
began playing in garage bands during his teenage years. After graduating from
seminary school, Van Stephenson wrote songs in the 1970s, achieving his first
chart hit as a songwriter with Crystal Gayle's "Your Kisses Will" in 1979. He
continued to write hits for artists such as Kenny Rogers, Dan Seals, Janie
Fricke, and John Anderson. Van Stephenson signed with Handshake Records and
released his debut solo album China Girl in 1981. ...
