Grup Ünlü, a German-Turkish rock band formed in 1981, began their musical
journey as a punk group under the names Fahrstuhl and The Lift. Their
breakthrough came with the release of "Estarabim" from their debut album Son
Defa (1996). The song was originally by Erkin Koray and was later featured on
the 2007 compilation Import Export a la Turka. Turkish Sounds from Germany.
Their second album, O ve Z Hikayesi (1998), included the single "Kafam" and
featured Karakan (Kerim & Alper) on the track "Onni (Hadi Gel)". In 2012, their
single "Rüya" (1996), was notably covered by Hande Yene...
