Sam Turner, known professionally as Uncle Sam, was born on May 31, 1971, in
Detroit, Michigan. He is an American singer specializing in Contemporary R&B and
Soul music. Uncle Sam's breakthrough came when he signed with Boyz II Men's
Stonecreek Records imprint, distributed by Epic Records, in the late 1990s. His
debut album, Uncle Sam, was released on October 17, 1997. The album featured the
hit single "I Don't Ever Want to See You Again", penned by Nathan Morris, which
reached number 5 on the Hot 100 chart and number 2 on the US R&B chart in 1997.
