Mats Ulf Stefan Björlin, known professionally as Ulf Björlin, born on May 21,
1933, in Stockholm, Sweden, was a composer and conductor. He studied music with
Igor Markevitch and Nadia Boulanger before working at the Royal Swedish Opera
and Malmö College of Music. He received several awards, including the Fritz
Gustaf Grafström Prize in 1961. Bjorlin's breakthrough came when he was employed
as a musical producer at Sveriges Radio in 1962, composing music for films and
