Travis Wammack, born in November 1944 in Walnut, Mississippi, was an American
guitarist. He began his musical journey at a young age, releasing his first
record in 1957 at the age of eleven. At seventeen, he hit the American charts
with "Scratchy", an instrumental that peaked at number 80 in 1964. Travis
Wammack worked as a session guitarist at Sonic Recording Service and Hi Records
in Memphis, and FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in the 1960s. His first
album, Travis Wammack, was released in 1972, featuring notable songs like
"Whatever Turns You On" and "How Can I Tell Yo...
