Tony Furtado
Tony Furtado, born on October 18, 1967 in Pleasanton, California, is an American
singer-songwriter, banjoist, and guitarist. At age 12, inspired by the Beverly
Hillbillies television show, he began playing the banjo. Furtado gained national
attention in 1987 when he won the National Bluegrass Banjo Championship. He
signed with Rounder Records in 1990, releasing his debut album Swamped, followed
by critically acclaimed albums including Within Reach (1992) and Full Circle
