An instrumental rock band celebrated for its heady, progressive sound, Toe
formed in 2000 in Tokyo, Japan. Drummer Kashikura Takashi, guitarist Mino
Takaaki, bassist Yamane Satoshi, and guitarist Yamazaki Hirokazu began
performing live in July 2001, then released the debut EP Songs, Ideas We Forgot
two years later. The full-length record The Book About My Idle Plot on a Vague
Anxiety followed in 2005, earning acclaim for its mix of complex math-rock and
cerebral post-rock influences. Toe's sound expanded with the release of 2009's
