Thore Olof Gottfrid Ehrling, also known as Thore Ehrling, born on December 29, 1912, in Stockholm, was a Swedish composer, arranger, musician, conductor, orchestra leader, and music publisher. He formed his first jazz band during school and studied at the Stockholm Conservatory of Music from 1931 to 1935. Notable collaborations include a session with Benny Carter in 1936. Ehrling worked with several bands before forming his own septet in 1938, which he expanded into a big band by 1940.
