Thomas de Pourquery
Thomas de Pourquery – born in Bondy, France on July 7, 1977 – is an acclaimed
pop and jazz saxophonist and vocalist. He began playing the saxophone at the age
of 14 and attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. In 2000, he
joined the Big Band Lumière and the National Jazz Orchestra under the direction
of Laurent Cugny. Collaborating with trombonist Daniel Zimmermann since 1997,
both musicians won the Concours de la Défense in 2002 and then formed the hard
bop quintet DPZ. The group released the acclaimed album He's Looking at You, Kid
