Theatre of Hate was a British post-punk band formed in London, England, in 1980.
Led by singer-songwriter and guitarist Kirk Brandon, who had previously been
part of The Pack, the original lineup included bassist Stan Stammers,
saxophonist John "Boy" Lennard, guitarist Steve Guthrie, and drummer Luke
Rendle. Inspired by Antonin Artaud's concept of the Theatre of Cruelty, the band
released their first single "Original Sin" in November 1980, which reached
number 5 in the UK Indie Chart. Their debut album Westworld, produced by Mick
