The Urge
The Urge is an American alternative rock ensemble from St. Louis established in
1987. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized
by alternative rock, ska, reggae, and hardcore punk and for their reputation for
high-energy live performances. The ensemble was founded by the drummer Jeff
Herschel, the bassist Karl Grable, and the guitarist Pat Malecek before
recruiting the vocalist Steve Ewing in 1987. Their recording career began with
the debut studio recording Bust Me Dat Forty (1989) followed by the studio
recording Puttin' the Backbone Back (1990). ...
