The Revolution, formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1979 by Prince, served as
his live and later studio band. Initially unnamed, the group achieved
international fame with Purple Rain (1984), reaching Number 1 on the Billboard
200 and being certified 13× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of
America. The album featured top-charting singles like "Let's Go Crazy" and "When
