The Poni-Tails were an American musical trio formed in Lyndhurst, Ohio in 1956.
The group consisted of Toni Cistone, Karen Topinka, and Patti McCabe, who
started singing together at Brush High School. Their first single, "Your Wild
Heart" b/w "Que la Bozena", was released on Point Records in 1956. Following the
departure of Karin Topinka, LaVerne Novak joined the group. They signed to
ABC-Paramount and released their breakthrough hit "Born Too Late" in 1958, which
reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 11 on the U.S. R&B singles
