THE NOVEMBERS
Originating from Utsunomiya in Tochigi Prefecture, supple Japanese rockers The
Novembers were formed in March 2005 by vocalist Yūsuke Kobayashi and bassist
Hirofumi Takamatsu. A few months later, the group expanded to include drummer
Ryousuke Yoshiki and guitarist/keyboard player Kengo Matsumoto. They released
two demo albums in 2006 before making their debut on UK Project's Daizawa
Records with their self-titled EP of 2007, which drew from alt-rock, shoegaze,
and post-rock influences. They cracked the Oricon chart with their debut studio
album Picnic (2008) and fared even better...
