The Notations
The Notations is an American soul group formed at high school in Chicago,
Illinois, in the late 1960s. The original lineup consisted of Clifford Curry,
Lasalle Matthews, and James Stroud. Early in their career, the members recorded
for Tad Records before the producer Syl Johnson brought them to Twinight
Records. Their first million-dollar seller was the single “I'm Still Here”
(1971), which was followed by “At the Crossroads”, written by Stroud. In 1973,
they joined Curtis Mayfield's Curtom and Gemigo Records, with a new lineup
