The Movielife formed in Long Island, New York, in 1997 and comprises vocalist
Vinnie Caruana, guitarist Brandon Reilly, and drummer Brett Romnes, among early
members. Their debut demo, Red Demo, attracted Fadeaway Records, leading to the
release of It’s Go Time in September 1999, followed by the single
"Self‑Destruct". In 2000, the band released This Time Next Year through
Revelation Records, and the EP Has A Gambling Problem appeared in November 2001.
The 2003 album Forty Hour Train Back To Penn peaked at number 164 on the
