The Louvin Brothers, composed of Ira and Charlie Louvin (né Loudermilk), were an
American musical duo born on April 21, 1924, and July 7, 1927. The brothers
began their career in gospel music during the 1940s. Their first secular hit was
"The Get Acquainted Waltz", recorded with Chet Atkins. In 1955, they joined the
Grand Ole Opry and released several albums including Tragic Songs Of Life (1956)
and Satan Is Real (1959), which featured their notable song "Satan Is Real". The
duo achieved significant chart success with hits like "Cash on the Barrelhead"
and "When I Stop Dreaming"....
