The Lotus Eaters, an English new wave band, were formed in Liverpool in
September 1982 by Jeremy "Jem" Kelly on guitar and Peter Coyle on bass. The
initial lineup also included Ged Quinn on keyboards, Alan Wills on drums, and
Phil Lucking on bass. Their breakthrough came with the single "The First Picture
of You", which became a hit in the UK and continental Europe, notably in France,
Italy, Belgium, and Spain. This success led to their signing with Arista
