The Heptones
The Heptones were formed in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1965 when bassist Leroy
Sibbles, vocalist Earl Morgan, and singer Barry Llewellyn first met as The Hep
Ones before adopting the name The Heptones. Their breakthrough came with the
1966 Studio One single “Fattie Fattie”, launching a string of hits such as
“Pretty Looks Isn’t All”, “Get In The Groove”, and “Sea Of Love”. The trio
ranked among the top vocal acts of the rocksteady era, rivaling The Techniques,
