The Five Keys
The Five Keys, an American rhythm and blues vocal group from Newport News,
Virginia, formed in the late 1940s as Sentimental Four and signed with Aladdin
Records in 1951. The group initially consisted of two sets of brothers: Rudy
West and Bernie West, and Ripley Ingram and Raphael Ingram. Early singles
included "The Glory of Love" and "It's Christmas Time". In 1952, Rudy West left
to join the U.S. Army, and Ulysses K. Hicks replaced him. Hicks' death in 1955
led to West’s return. The group signed with Capitol Records in 1954. Notable
