Originally known as Josh & the Empty Pockets, the Chicago-based quartet was
formed in 2006 and is known for its roots rock, borrowing from genres such as
vintage rock'n'roll, folk-rock, Americana, soul and blues. Comprising Josh
Solomon (vocals, guitar), Erika Brett (keyboards, vocals), Nate Bellon (bass)
and Adam Balasco (drums), replaced by Danny Rosenthal, The Empty Pockets began
with a tribute to Buddy Holly on Under the Bed (2008). Renamed The Empty
Pockets, it went on to self-produce the Introducing the Empty Pockets EP (2011)
