The Divas, a collective of international music stars, originated from the United
States and were formed for the VH1 Divas Live concert series. The group's first
performance took place on April 14, 1998, at New York City’s Beacon Theatre,
featuring Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Mariah Carey, and Shania
Twain. Guest performer Carole King led the artists through renditions of her
songs "You've Got a Friend" and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman". The
