The Detergents are an American music group specializing in parody songs,
consisting of Ronnie Dante, Danny Jordan, and Tommy Wynn. The trio began their
career as staff writers and session singers for Aldon Music before being
approached by Paul Vance to record "Leader of the Laundromat" in 1964. This
song, a spoof of the Shangri-Las' "Leader of the Pack", became a top 20 hit on
the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1965, peaking at number 19. The success
