The Dallas Boys, a five-piece vocal group from Leicester, England, formed in the
1950s. The band consisted of Joe Smith, Stan Jones, Bob Wragg, Leon Fisk, and
Nicky Clarke, and have been referred to as “Britain’s first boy band.” Their
breakthrough came after winning a Butlins talent contest, leading to regular
appearances on the TV show Six-Five Special. They became household names in the
late 1950s through their performances on Oh Boy! and continued to perform
