The Czars
The Czars were an American alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Denver,
Colorado by John Grant and Chris Pearson, with Jeff Linsenmaier on drums, Andy
Monley and Roger Green on guitar, and Chris Pearson on bass. Initially known as
Titanic, the band released their first demos on Mood Swing (1996) through
Velveteen Records. Their breakthrough came in 2000 with the release of
Before...But Longer, produced by Simon Raymonde of Bella Union. The album
featured the single "Val" and was well-received, earning an 8/10 from Drowned in
