The Cowsills, an American singing group from Newport, Rhode Island, formed in
1965. The original lineup consisted of four brothers: Barry, Bill, Bob, and John
Cowsill. Inspired by The Everly Brothers and later by The Beatles, the group
began performing in local venues and television shows during their father's
military assignment in Ohio. Their first single "All I Really Want To Be Is Me"
was released in 1965. In 1967, they signed with MGM Records and released their
