The Charlie Daniels Band
The Charlie Daniels Band emerged from the early musical pursuits of its
frontman, Charlie Daniels, who began playing fiddle and guitar as a child. After
founding the instrumental group The Jaguars in 1958 and later relocating to
Nashville in 1967 to work as a session musician, Daniels assembled the eponymous
band with Don Murray, Charlie Hayward, James W. Marshall, and Joe DiGregorio,
blending Southern rock, jazz, blues, and boogie-woogie influences. Their first
