The BellRays
California natives The Bellrays (often stylized as The BellRays) began crafting
their high-octane blend of garage rock and soul music in the early '90s. Formed
by lead singer Lisa Kekaula and guitarist Bob Vennum, who had previously played
together in a band called The Rose Thorns, the group made its debut with the
only-cassette releases The BellRays (1990) and In the Light of the Sun (1993).
Released in 1998, their first full-length album Let It Blast found the band at
the peak of their powers, further refining their soulful brand of punk rock.
