Terry Snyder was an American drummer and percussionist born in 1916 in New York
City. He achieved professional recognition for a career as a jazz and
entertainment musician, beginning his professional activities in 1932. Snyder
performed with Frank Froeba in the ensemble The Five Shades of Blue (1940) and
collaborated with artists including Cliff Edwards, Stuff Smith, and Sarah
Vaughan. During the 1950s, he performed in studio orchestras led by Norman
