Terrence Parker, born in Detroit, Michigan, is an American musician known for
his work as a producer and DJ in the deep house and funky-house genres.
Influenced by gospel and early Detroit techno, Parker began his career as a
hip-hop DJ before transitioning to house music in the late 1980s. His first
track, "The Question" under the pseudonym Seven Grand Housing Authority, was
released in 1993 and became a club hit in Europe, leading to a contract with
Sony Music's sublabel 6 × 6. The single entered the UK charts in October 1993.
